About

Photographic Histories in Central and Eastern Europe is a series of international conferences aiming to advance and promote photographic studies about the region as an area characterized by a multitude of cultures, languages, religions and economic structures, and yet united by shared historical experiences such as imperialism and socialism.

Initiated in Warsaw in 2016, Photographic Histories in Central and Eastern Europe has since then been hosted each year by a different research institution in the region.
